Andrew is co-founder and CEO of Cerebras Systems. He is an entrepreneur dedicated to pushing boundaries in the compute space. Prior to Cerebras, he co-founded and was CEO of SeaMicro, a pioneer of energy-efficient, high-bandwidth microservers. SeaMicro was acquired by AMD in 2012 for $357M. Before SeaMicro, Andrew was the Vice President of Product Management, Marketing and BD at Force10 Networks which was later sold to Dell Computing for $800M.
Cerebras Systems Thinks Forward on AI Chips as it Claims Performance Win
Cerebras Systems makes the largest chip in the world, but is already thinking about its upcoming AI chips as learning models continue to grow at breakneck speed. The company's latest Wafer Scale Engine chip is indeed the size of a wafer, and is made using TSMC's 7nm process. The next chip will pack in more cores to handle the fast-growing compute needs of AI, said Andrew Feldman, CEO of Cerebras Systems. "In the future it will be five nanometers and it will keep growing. There are always opportunities to improve the performance," Feldman said.
HPE is building a rapid AI supercomputer powered by the world's largest CPU
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced it is building a powerful new AI supercomputer in collaboration with Cerebras Systems, maker of the world's largest chip. The new system will be made up of a combination of HPE Superdome Flex servers and Cerebras CS-2 accelerators, which are powered by the monstrous Wafer-Scale Engine 2 (WSE-2) processor. The nameless supercomputer is expected to go live later this summer at the Leibniz Supercomputing Center (LRZ) in Bavaria, providing researchers with a new resource to help accelerate research projects on topics ranging from medical imaging to aerospace engineering. Unveiled by Cerebras in April last year, the WS2-E is designed expressly to accelerate AI training and inference workloads. The chip houses a staggering 2.6 trillion transistors and 850,000 AI cores spread across 46,225 mm(2) of silicon, supposedly delivering the AI performance of hundreds of GPUs.

Cerebras Systems' massive chips are revolutionizing AI
Bigger isn't always better, but sometimes it is. Cerebras Systems, a company bent on accelerating machine learning systems, built the world's largest chip last year. In the time since, it's developed bespoke solutions to some of the largest problems in the AI industry. Founded in 2015, Cerebras is a sort of reunion tour for most of its C-suite executives. Prior to building chips the size of dinner plates, the team was responsible for Sea Micro, a company founded in 2007 that eventually sold to AMD for more than $330 million in 2012.

Cerebras Systems, G42 to Bring AI Compute Capabilities to the Region
Artificial intelligence (AI) compute solutions provider Cerebras Systems and G42, the UAE-based AI and cloud computing company, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at GMIS, under which they will bring high performance AI capabilities to the Middle East. Optimized for AI work, the Cerebras Wafer Scale Engine (WSE) is a single chip that contains more than 1.2 trillion transistors and is 46,225 square millimeters. The WSE is 56.7 times larger than the largest graphics processing unit which measures 815 square millimeters and 21.1 billion transistors1. The WSE also contains 3,000 times more high speed, on-chip memory, and has 10,000 times more memory bandwidth. In AI, chip size is profoundly important.
